Hiya , could anyone please tell me if chickens are alright to eat suet blocks that you put out for wild birds in the winter? You read how nourishing these blocks are for the wild birds and I just wondered if my chickens could have them too! Waiting to hear from you. Thanks Burney
Suet is extremely high in fat. So I wouldn't leave it out like you do for birds. I once fed a wild bird seed mix with suet balls in it and one of my birds did not empty her crop the next morning and had a small ball in her crop. So just be careful with suet.Thank you for your quick reply. I was just a bit worried about the fat content that goes with the healthy seeds. Can you suggest any other foods for the winter months please! Thank you again
