My Introduction!

WC! I bought some chicks from TSC last year and one turned out to be a white silkie Batam hen. She laid tiny little white eggs, so cute. Watch out Silkies are very broody, I had to break her broodiness a couple of times. A month ago, I finally let her sit on her own eggs, 6 out of 6 hatched! She is a great mother, I can’t wait to see what they look like in a few weeks.

Glad you decided to join us! Please do get a friend (or two friends would be better) for your girl. They are flock animals so they need the company. I hope you enjoy your chicken adventure

Yes, except for the beak it does resemble a Chow Chow dog.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your silkie or her friends if/when they arrive, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out

Including your general location on your profile will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.
