(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We have had chickens for about 10 years. We usually buy them as chicks at the store, but we have also been given chickens too.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Right now, we have 1 older chicken that is from the last flock.
We have 1 rooster and 11 hens that we got as chicks on Easter Sunday this past year.
(3) What breeds do you have?
The kids all pick 2 chicks each, so the breeds vary. All I can say is that they are all pretty.
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
While looking for what to do with the last chick, this was the best sight for help.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Homeschooling my kids. Being a leader for Boy Scouts and American Heritage Girls.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 7 children, 2 grandkids, and 5 others praying for us in Heaven.
My kids are allergic to most animals, so chicken work well for us.
I'm a homeschool mom for 18 years with 7 more years to go.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I googled my problems and found you guys.
Now, I have a problem that I can't find and could use some extra help.
