Hey, y'all. I'm Sid and am looking into raising my own little cluckers. I have an idea in my mind that they will give me some more purpose in my life, while also putting food on my table. I just moved into a house of my own for the first time in 5 years and it has a huuuuuuuuuge backyard. When I saw it on Zillow, I instantly thought, "chickens".
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've never raised chickens before, although I do have a buddy irl who is pretty proficient.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Zero, I am looking to learn a bit before we build their coop.
(3) What breeds do you have?
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
What I believe to be the better aspects would be the personality that a chicken may or may not have, along with the sense of responsibility for these beautiful creatures.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy doing things on my computer like talking to friends or playing games, reading, and exploring new places with friends.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
In my household it is just me, but I grew up with my parents and two sisters. My sister is 20 (i'm 23) and my other sister is 10.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
