Hopefully I'm in the right spot this...

My husband and I started a homestead about 4 years ago and have been learning as we go provided some wonderful tips and advise from YouTube and websites like this!

We started with chickens and sadly they only had straight run available at the time. We ended up with 50 Rhode Island reds and 12 silkies. Out of the 50 Rhode Island reds 50 turned out to be roosters...we learned many many valuable lessons during that time to say the least! And 7 out of 12 silkies were roosters. These little silkies just a ball of joy and absolutely love each and every one of them.

From there we got a Milk cow which turned soon into 8 cows. Our main milk cow is the sweetest thing ever. We joke that she taught us how to milk but she really did. There is absolutely nothing like raw milk! One milk cow provided a family of 4 with more milk, cream, cheese, butter, and yogurt than we could ever consume. It's incredible!

Goats came next and at first we enjoyed them and are now in the process of trying to rehome them. They're being replaced with sheep which have been a delight to keep.

I'm always scouring the internet looking for ways of improvement for all the species and this is my reason for joining.

I look forward to swapping stories and ideas with you all!
