My Introduction

I have good news and bad news!

The turkey chick that almost died yesterday was miraculously fine this morning and was eating and drinking like the others. On the other hand, I noticed that another chick had been sleeping more than usual. When I went to pick it up, it had a wobbly head, like the other one, I helped it to drink and eat. It must have been too late because I later found it dead. I believe my issue was that I didn't properly introduce them to where the water was located. I have them in a reasonably small tub. That's why I assumed they knew where the water and food were. I guess I should have played it safer and showed them anyway. Next time I will do so.

so far I haven't had any more problems and the chicks are energetic and happy.

I am so sorry for your loss. :hugs I always dip beaks in the water when I first put them in the brooder so they know where to drink. I sprinkle food on a paper towel in front of the feeder and tap with my finger like I am eating. This is what momma would do, it generally gets them started. Glad the other one is ok! :)
