(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I have never had chickens before, but we just got some last week.
They are 4.5 weeks old.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
13!! (What have we done?!?)
(3) What breeds do you have?
We have a barnyard mix, which may include:
Hens: black copper maran, gold laced Cochin, gold laced Wyandotte, Welsummer, OE, Frost white legbar crested cream legbar, orpingtons, EE
Rooster: Olive egger
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Having a source of eggs that are natural, clean and ethically produced.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I enjoy baking, quilting, and singing.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I live with my parents and we have two dogs and now the chickens. I work as an Optician at a private clinic.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I heard about BYC from the lady we bought our chickens from last week. I am excited to learn more tips and tricks!
