my kid just stuck an unwashed egg in his mouth and sucked on it for up to 4 minutes!

I agree with the others, I'm sure he will be just fine :)

My dd sucked on a unwashed robins egg for quite a long time before I noticed.. oooppps

It was an old egg, left in nest. So after babies hatched ect. I brought egg and nest down for kids to see.
Well youngest dd 3 at the time, new eggs had to be kept warm to hatch.. So she had it in her mouth keeping it warm..

She was fine, crazy girl!! I explained the whole this egg is no good anymore, but she still wanted to hatch it..
Did it Hatch?

And I would be so happy if the grossest thing a child put in it's mouth was an egg..... especially from your own hens! So don't worry about it, he'll be fine! Like I've heard, If you can wash it off, it won't kill 'ya!

If you think about how much stuff we touch with out washing our hands and then we put our hands on our kids and in our own mouths. My son is 15 months, he puts everything in his mouth. I have cats, a dog and a rabbit in the house and they're everywhere. The fur is everywhere and my sons favorite toys are the dog toys. He's only been sick one time, that's because his dad brought something home from work and we all got sick. When I first became a parent, I thought that I would keep my house spotless because I didn't want him to get to stuff he couldn't have and I didn't want him to get sick. Well, things change when you have kids, and the housework usually comes last for us. I like spending time with my son, rather than cleaning up everything he tears apart. (I do clean, just when he goes to bed, and my house is clean, but not spotless.) With all the animals we have coming in and out of the house, they track stuff in all the time. I do too. My son crawls around on the floor and is just fine.
I also have a bad habit of leaving food out after I cook it. It usually gets put up when I clean the kitchen in the middle of the night. But some times it doesn't. I recently left out a potato concoction that I made, it had cheese and sour cream in it, I watched my mom eat it after it had been out all night. HAHAHA. I told her, and she said it smelled fine. So she ate it. I just laughed at her, and took a few bites myself.

Oh and for breakfast, my son at 2 scrambled eggs that had been on the counter for 2 weeks unwashed. I leave my eggs out like that a lot. I wait until the cartons are full then put them in the fridge. I only do this with my hens eggs, I would honestly never leave store bought eggs out because who knows how long they've been in that carton to begin with. And the places where store bought eggs come from are despicable, so if anything is going to make you sick, its the ones from the store.

And as he gets older, that unwashed egg your son put in his mouth, probably won't be the worst things he puts in his mouth. My son at a moth last night, I almost forgot. I saw it, I saw him put something in his mouth, it didn't click at first. Then it did! I opened his mouth, saw the moth. Then he jerked his head away from me and swallowed it! Oops, there goes the moth.
