So for those of you who don't know in late July we lost 10 of our girls to coccidiosis. The remaining 13 were very sick and we treated them. At the time I feared they might not ever fully recover. Before the illness about 5 were laying. Now mid August the ladies proved my fears wrong and I have 8 hens laying since yesterday. They truly amazed me came back stronger than before they were sick. Chickens are such awesome creatures. Also here are photos of my ladies and their eggs

If you didn't know late July all of my chickens had coccidiosis. It spread quickly killing 10 chickens. Fortunately we were able to get our hands on some corid before it could do anymore damage. At the time I wasnt very hopeful I had just lost my chickens they were my babies. I loved them dearly and they were laying. I wasnt sure if the remaining chickens would make it our rooster was very sad he wasnt very active sleeping a lot. And calling for the ladies at times. There were times when he would pace in circles in the coop and check outside every other minute. I was devastated when I lost bunny my pride and joy as a chicken keeper she was beautiful I was heartbroken. And I wasn't hopeful that our remaining chickens would start laying again or if Jack our rooster would be himself. After about a week and a half Jack started to get better and the ladies were starting to walk around again. Before we went on vacation to the rockys still no eggs.

When we got back their 4 eggs and they just picked up from there now we have 8 girls laying eggs we got our FIRST Cochin egg yesterday I'm so proud of my flock. They amazed by coming back stronger than before. Chickens are so amazing

And here are my survivors they are so brave

It's ok it happens we know what to look for next time.
That's exactly right. Years ago, we had a litter of puppies and we had given them a set of shots and thought they were safe, but they got parvo. They just weren't old enough for the next set of shots yet. We lost 2 of the 4. It was awful. But, we learned from it.

Yea the first week or 2 was awful. I'm only 17 and I was never interested in chickens until this time around and bunny wasy baby she may have grown up to 20 weeks but in my eyes she was still a baby and my best friend.

Omg yes I need a 4th buff to complete the golden girls squad Sophia was the one that layed her egg yesterday.
Yay Sophia! She's beautiful. I've got a cochin. Red, I think. She's 5 weeks old and her name is Anne. And I'm saying she, but I don't know for sure yet. She's absolutely the sweetest thing. I think 2 of my newest chicks are cochins too. But I'm unsure what color. They're a week or so old.
