I have four 5 week old lavender split orpington chicks that I just starting to show gender. I am 99.9% sure that in picture #1 on the left is a cockerel and the right is a pullet. Picture #2 still has me on the fence. I think cockerel but sometimes maybe pullet?? Posing one way it looks like a pullet but when it turns it's head it looks like a cockerel, hmmmm. It is no were as developed as the first picture cockerel and they were hatched at the same time. The fourth chick was too busy taking a snooze on the back perch to get a picture of, maybe tomorrow?
