Hi everyone,

What’s your opinion on this Lavender Orpington, Pullet or Cockerel? Initially I thought cockerel but have always held hope, and now I’m thinking maybe it is a pullet. She’s approx 7 weeks old. Her legs are thinner than my other cockerels and facial features not as pink or developed, I’ve just bought another two pullets a couple of weeks older and she’s similar to them. 🤷‍♀️ Sorry the pics aren’t the best, hopefully you can see enough. Thank you in advance.

Do you have another picture of her? Cant see the tail..Also pullet.
Thank you. I’ve added another pic of the second bird in question, (top bird again) it’s not the best again though apologies. If you can’t decide from this pic I shall take some more in the morning.

I like this answer 😂 thank you! Also, the fourth pic, top bird- I know the pic and angle are rubbish but would you say cockerel or pullet on that one? No wattles but the tail feathers are throwing me. Thanks SilverBirds.
Looks like a pullet, too. Looking at the tail isn't really an accurate indicator of sex until at least 12 weeks old when boys start to grow their long male feathers. I can see with the shredded feathers how it can be confusing.

All of my lavender Orpingtons pullets never get color in their face, combs or wattles until they are right at point of lay. Definitely not at 7 weeks old. That’s around the age my cockerels get coloring.
