She is still a Pullet, only 4 mos. old and I am hoping that this isn't a habit that she teaches other hens.

*I* wouldn't worry at all - the onset of production is a confusing time for them. Did you see any of the egg and, if so, was it fully shelled or soft-shelled? A lot of times when they are first getting the hang of the whole process the eggs will be broken or cracked in all their antics and, once it is broken then it becomes attractive for eating -- it doesn't mean she necessarily laid it and then purposefully cracked it to eat.
Was the egg in a nest box or outside of the nest boxes?
