My less than a week old ducklings are dying and I can’t figure out why.

recycled coffee grounds? never heard of it being used as brooder material. But I do remember years ago reading in Readers digest about a german shepherd getting into some trash and eating coffee grounds and dying. The caffeine I believe is what killed him. Ducklings pick up a lot of things to taste and eat. Even pine shaving if fine enough.

They actually sell this at the farm stores for poultry bedding. It seems a bit pricey, but I've seen it. Not sure if it's good for ducklings though.

I guess I don't get out much, with having only one feed store here and all they sell is pine and cedar shavings. Never knew they made bedding out of used coffee grounds,

One thing I see that could be a problem is the feed. I see what looks like seeds, cracked corn and oats. Are you providing grit for them as well? Without grit, they may become impacted.
