Going through some tough times right now myself. Won't go into detail here. Just asking for prayers. Yes, my health, and family matters. We have a large family. Things do happen, here and there. Right now, it's pretty close. A son, and a brother in law.
Man, this getting older thing is not fun. Have to say though, sure have had some wonderful times in my past. A lot to be grateful for!
Oh, I'm so sorry to read this, Cynthia. I don't know what's going on, but that's okay -- you and the Good Lord do and that's all I need to know to offer up my prayers as well!
Good morning Team Rachel!
So glad to get an update on Rachel, thanks for sharing that.
Blooie, your cruise sounds great. Where/when are you going?
Cynthia, prayers and hugs to you & yours![]()
We are heading back to Alaska. This is my fourth cruise in a row, all of them were Alaska cruises. I don't like that tropical stuff - not a "beachy" kind of fan, I'm more of a mountain and spectacular scenery kind of person. We are taking Katie with us this time. Tam and Evan are going too, but they booked their own. So the five of us head out on July 8 and will be gone until the 15th. I figure my day-to-day life is all about having to run here and there, getting this and that done, taking care of grandkids, and my entire social life is somehow centered on Masonry as Ken's "sidekick". So cruising is that one week where I get pampered 100%, and I'm milking it dry!! Yes, we are taking the grandkids so I won't get away from that part of my life completely, but Katie is 11 and Evan is 12, so we booked them into the Kid's Deck - tons of activities, trained counselors, special meals and parties, and they will really enjoy that! Love that I can put a cruise on "layaway"...book it, pay a deposit, then pay on it over the months before the cruise. By the time we leave, everything is paid for and done. Otherwise there would be no way we could afford cruising.
Good morning team Rachel!
My small prayer is that this day finds you all safe in the arms of the Savior.
Can I ask you add my sweet husband and his brother to your prayer list? The brother is officially on hospice care now. We did get to go see him a couple weeks ago (they live quite a ways to our south, please forgive me if I shared this already) and now we stay in touch with his precious wife as she cares for him at home with the help of their daughter who is amazing and always close by for mom. Anyway, we are going ahead with our own lives with quiet dread as we wait for the call we don't want to come. There is a a positive to this tho. My husband's family is now making the extra effort to come see dad and grandpa. I think this made them realize he may not always be here "tomorrow" either. It was a wonderful birthday earlier and two days of visits over the Father's Day weekend and phonecalls from some of the kids and grandkids, some it's been years since we've seen.![]()
Boy, when it rains here in the waiting room it pours! Seems like Team Rachel has been beaten up pretty good this year already, but here we all still are - cheering, praying, laughing, crying and getting past the bumps one at at time. The power of prayer and the power of friends and family united always leaves me in awe! Sending prayers for your husband and his brother!
