My leukemia's back.

We were hitting record highs this yr. With it being 100 or just below, for the whole month of July. Down in the the southern part of the state it was .. and still is in the triple digits. :( Don't want to think what Arizona folks get, and a couple of other states close by.
I think this is a record cold year here... Not once did we get to 90 and with August almost two weeks old the forecast is 70's......

Anyone have some good news to share today?

I'll start...yesterday I got the first eggs from my new flock! Haven't had backyard eggs since having to leave my old flock in FL last year. So great to see those eggs again.

Anyone else?
That's awesome NFC.....I don't have any good news.... Sorry..... Although it's good news that I don't have a any bad news. .. :D

I had a good day here- my alarm woke me up to my favorite song "Take on Me," by Aha.
That was my good omen ,then went to see "Dark Tower," that critics were trashing to the hilt. I still wanted to see Idris Elba . Well the movie was great (I never read the book) and I really enjoyed it. My brother gave it 3.5 stars out of 4, and said Idris' acting deserved 4 stars. I was flabbergasted. He usually hates movies I like.

Doesn't take much for me to have a great day. Ice cream would have been overkill.
Right after my Bone Marrow Transplant I started reading the Dark Tower series..... Was the most epic thing I've ever gotten into..... Read all the books patiently awaiting as Stephen King would release new ones.
And he even wrote a new book that takes place smack in the middle of the story.
Who does that? Anyways glad you liked it.... But In this case I know that it cannot do justice to the books. Regardless I really want to see it anyways......

DD.... I'm wondering if the movie is just the first book.....I cannot see how they could tell the whole story....I think it's 10 books.... In less than two hours.
If you are a reader I highly recommend reading it...... The story will get you and suck you right in..... It's one of those .

Though I occasionally checked into the thread here, left a few comments here and there, and have had some nice conversations over the years with our Rachel, I wanted to pop in to say I found out a bit after the fact that she had left us. She was such a lovely person and I will miss just knowing she is not with us physically, but she will always be remembered fondly on BYC. Thanks to all of you who supported her so lovingly here, I know she loved you all. I will sure miss her kindness.

I got an unexpected... olive egg from a pullet day before yesterday. And, she laid me another small, but beautiful one yesterday. Thought for sure she would lay the blue/green color. This color is that perfect , olive color, at least to me. Think of a green olive. And, it's a smooth, no speckles, at least not yet. :)

I have some new gals laying also. Such awesome beautiful aqua gems. I fry up 3 at a time. I like to break the yolks so they cook a bit more. The yolk membrane and inner albumen are so well structured that when I try to smush the yolk with my spatula, the yolk shoots out of the egg, and completely separates from the albumen. I try stuffing it back into the albumen pocket, but still can't break the yolk. Guess I'll have to start stabbing it with a fork!

Hey, hey!! I didn't exactly store shop for the fresh eggs I brought you!! Congrats on the new eggs!! Nothing like that feeling of accomplishment when your hard work is rewarded with an edible lawn ornament, is there?

Hope everyone is well and/or rapidly getting that way! Love from Cheyenne!

Blooie, good to hear from you. Are you well? Take care, my friend. Today is the first day that I've felt normal after having the stomach flu since Friday.
