How big are those moths anyway? They look enormous!
Do those beautiful moths have any fun in their life before they expire?
They have great sex and then die.
Exactly! They have no mouths, their sole purpose is to have sex and keep the species going. Seems kinda weird for a moth that big, not sure how/what other animals benefit by eating it. Or maybe they eat the caterpillars.
They also dance in the moonlight (Luna) just prior to the great sex.
Talk about a cheap date. Takes her dancing, then... skip the meal... head straight to the bedroom!!!
Who would ever think discussing moths would lead to this turn in the conversation
This is serious stuff. As a kid I was bringing all sorts of cocoons into the house. One time I hatched a female Luna moth. She was hanging on the screen in my bedroom - that night a half dozen males were attracted by her pheromones. Being a romantic of course I turned her loose to meet her love. Then there was the time I put a half dozen praying mantis egg cases behind the radiator in the bathroom ------------------------
