My leukemia's back.

Everyone of us that had the honor of knowing Rachel misses her. I'm glad this thread lives on, she's still with us in a way.

Every morning as I come here, she with all of her dignity, mirth, and character enters my mind. My one regret is that I never got to meet her personally.

Well, it's raining off, and on outside. It's suppose to get down into the 30's on Saturday, and Sunday. DD # 1 is coming shortly to help me put up tarps on the coop. As usual, the temperature drop will be preceded by rain, and wind. The chickens can withstand the cold, OR the rain, OR the wind, but not all 3 at once. Especially since they're not acclimated. It's been averaging in the mid 80's during the day, and in the 60's at night. I hate sudden drops like that.

The thing that stands out in my mind the most, is how she opened her home up and took Echo as an honorary son, even though she was facing incredible hardship with her health, and living in cramped housing. I have one gal in my flock who was hatched with eggs that Rachel shipped to me! Every time I look at that gal, I am reminded of Rachel, and her great big loving heart. I'm sure she passed on a loving legacy to Big Boy and Sugar Monkey. And often wonder how Don is doing.

Good morning Team Rachel. Dd #1 helped, and we got most of the tarps on the coop yesterday. She's coming back this morning to help me finish the job. We will have it done in time for the temperature drop. I've got all my Christmas shopping done. Dh wants me to wrap every one of the gifts. I will wrap the ones that are square. The others I will put in gift bags.

I was wrapping presents the other night and realized I can't seem to cut straight with a scissors. I can't remember how to fold the ends of wrapping paper on a box. Had to keep searching for everything that kept disappearing ie, tape, scissors, tags, boxes. Everytime I went to grab something, it wasn't there anymore. Paper kept getting torn etc. just too stressful.

Think next year will just buy those 99cents big paper bags from TJ Maxx or Marshall's and put presents in that instead of individual wrapping.

DD, if you have a Dollar Tree close by you should check out their gift bags. Lots of variety in colors, sizes, and depending on the size some are 2 or 3 gift bags for a $1. They also have printed gift boxes. I'm not a good present wrapper either so really like the bags. When I try to wrap with paper, 5 rolls of tape per package are needed to hold everything together :D
