My leukemia's back.

Thanks.
Can't hurt, and it will make me feel like I am doing something. :idunno
Using heat helped with my back. I wonder if it will make them fester though. Will that make too much for your immune system to remove?

I hope it goes at a pace that you can handle. Maybe they can operate later when there is less of them

well... date is set for my dad's surgery.

It is a big one.

They need to take out a chunk of esophagus, right above the stomach. They will need to take some small intestine AND some colon in order to rebuild his esophagus. Of course a stomach tube will be put in for food. No eating or drinking by mouth for I think 6 weeks post-operation. So, this will be a crazy major surgery, and he has NOT been following doctors orders in regard to walking, eating enough, and breathing exercises.

-sigh-

Thursday morning is the operation. I think my mom said he needs to be at the hospital by 5:30 am.
:hugs

Some patients are not good at following instructions. I hope he recovers quickly!

Which brings up a question, how are the boys dealing? Gotta be hard on them too.

it has been 5 years now since most have seen him (youngest saw him with me this summer.... eldest saw him last fall). He stopped traveling after the first cancer, since the treatment really messed him up.

It is interesting, only kid #4 cries about it. But they are all at different levels of sad. Eldest has been good and pretty philosophical and religious about it, but is disappointed that he probably won't live for much longer. Eldest wants to be a Reader in the church, and wanted him to be there at the ceremony, since my dad is also a Reader, and they were always very close (VERY similar personalities). Looks like the eldest will be tonsured a Reader in May.. but up here in Homer, Alaska. No way, even if my dad is still alive then, that he could travel.

Eldest has come to terms with the fact that there is no way my dad will still be on this earth when my son is ordained a priest (his long term goal). That was hard too.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all, Alaskan.
