My leukemia's back.

This was a tough year. Lots of health issues for me that I could do without. Losing Rachel and Linda. Having Tam move away from Cowley. Not having Katie and Kendra across the street anymore. We just realized that the back porch is literally falling off the house. My chickens are gone.

But Kendra is thriving, and beginning to talk to us. She is loving kindergarten and learning every day, even as her classmates learn compassion and acceptance. Tam has her own home, a dream of hers for years. Kenny and Jenny have a home - such as it is - and Kendra gets into her wheelchair and goes where she wants to be because now there's room for it. Katie is such a good student that one of her teachers told us at conferences that she is one of the 5 top students he's ever had in his 31 years of teaching, and he praised her gentleness, her kindness, and her calm demeanor. Not bad for a child with Autism. Evan is maturing into the kind of man that anyone would be proud to raise, and he's always so cheerful and kind. Once again this year he and Katie made Jack-o-Lanterns at Halloween and Gingerbread Houses at Christmas to take to the care center in Lovell, something they have done every year for the past 4 years. Jamie and Rachel are doing well and Landyn and Madelyn are growing into little characters. Little Diane was able to buy her own house, and has been out here twice for visits this year. Ashley rang the "last chemo" bell in April. Ken is now Deputy Grand Master of Wyoming, on the downward stretch of this entire complicated journey.

Notice how the "good" paragraph is longer than the "bad" paragraph. We may not have everything that we want, but we certainly have everything that we need. We are warm, dry, fed, and still a loving complete family. In that, we are so much more blessed than too many others, and I am grateful to the Good Lord for His bounty and goodness. I ask His continued blessings on our family and on yours. Happy New Year, my friends. Thanks for always being just a click away.

Happy new year to you all!

btw, Grandpa Billy slept in till 1:00 and is doing a lot better... Back to his stubborn self, lol. We do think it was a stroke so my uncle may try getting him to the doctor but not sure.

He was well enough to say he was going to make it thru the new year. :D
