My leukemia's back.

My daughter went to a new doctor today. A very good GP. She actually paid attention to what my daughter was saying. First off, her prior GP was trying to cover her own butt, and took all mentions of anything about Dd's stomach out of the records. No mention of referral to GI doctor. No mention of H. Pulurum. Dd has all the paperwork though, and we faxed it to her new doctor.

First off, she's having reactions to the med they gave her. She really shouldn't need that med now anyway, so she's going off of it. Dr. gave her a prescription for a different one, that does as good, just in case she does need it, or needs it at a later time. She had the nurse in the office draw blood. The nurse fussed about it, and the doctor came unglued.

She is to go back in 2 weeks, to report whether her symptoms have cleared up some, get the results of her blood work, and they've ordered one more test. They just didn't have the test in the office, so they could do it today, but will have it in stock, and do it next time she goes in.

I've been really concerned about her. She's been getting worse, and worse, and her former doctor was doing nothing, and I mean nothing.
H. pylori? She has an Ulcer? The current protocol is anti biotics that will cure nearly all ulcers the first time. The rest are cured with a second course.

Before the new protocol, I cured my ulcer with cayenne pepper pills

They found it at her first OB appointment. Because she was extremely high risk anyway, they did an internal ultrasound very early. Her doctor, a fabulous woman and OB, sat us down an explained that they had found a small mass and that with the location and the shape, that kind of tumor is almost always cancerous. She recommended terminating the pregnancy so they could treat.

Terrin glared at her and said, “Look, you have the schooling and the training. Your job is to take care of me and this baby. My job is to do whatever you tell me. Now I have lost 5 babies....I’m not f’ing losing this one.” And she didn’t. Her husband’s job was one with funky hours, so I took Terrin to every appointment. They started weekly ultrasounds after her 3rd month. We could see the baby growing, but we could also watch the tumor growing until the baby got so big she hid it. But Dr Gebink got her through to 38 weeks, despite having to stop labor on 3 different occasions earlier on. They did Terrin’s hysterectomy 6 weeks later. She had a uterine tumor and 3 ovarian tumor, and cancerous cells in her cervix. Several years later, she had a double mastectomy - the cancer had come back.

Side story: We had been calling the baby “Taylor Jonelle” since the moment we found out that it was a girl. But as she was being born, Dr. Gebink asked Terrin and John if the plan was still on. They said yes, so the doctor had me move to the foot of the bed. When the baby was born, the doctor handed her to me, cord still attached and all. Terrin said, “Mom, you are kindest, most decent human being I’ve ever known. I don’t know if I’ll be around to see her grow up, but if her having your name will help her be like you, we’d like you to meet Diane Jonelle.” I darn near dropped my brand new granddaughter! I still tear up just telling it. Terrin is still with us, although sadly she is no longer part of our lives. But I did end up raising Little Diane for much of her life.
So sorry that she is no longer a part of your lives.

Thank you for sharing. :hugs

Glad she saw a different dr. Sometimes it takes just that to get things right, and sometimes more than a second!

Ok, need prayers. The daughter-in-law that just had the baby, had a really bad episode happen yesterday, she was at the Pediatrics actually and started to bleed heavily. Austin our son... Her husband... Was with us at the DMV for my husband. We stopped at a store on the way home, she lets him know that she's bleeding too much. He goes straight to her to the Pediatrics, they go straight to the ER. Long story short, the area where her placenta had come loose had blocked for a while, and it bled out big-time! She lost a lot of blood all at once. They said don't be surprised if you do this again. They keep her a while. Now, she gets a phone call just before she drives into the driveway ..I was babysitting the baby... After Austin had brought him back from the hospital because they said he should not be there. But, they said they did the right thing coming straight there. That's when I get a phone call to come watch him. The phone call for her was to inform her that when the ultrasound was done there was a 5 Cin. size mass seen on her uterus.
She's going into the doctor today for a different type of ultrasound to see what it looks like. Prayers that this will not be a big thing. Thank you so much. Here are a couple of photos I took while I was there. Fed, changed, snuggled, pet on, and then, falling asleep. First photo, eyes open, second photo, fell asleep. :) View attachment 1584867 View attachment 1584868

It's just a blood clot!! The dr. doesn't want to do do a D&C this early after birth..so, keeping her on some meds they gave her when she went into the hospital for the bleeding. Next Thursday, another internal ultra sound to see if it had passed. If not, then they will decide what's next. Thank you so much for the prayers. I'm a firm believer in the power of prayer. :)
Beautiful baby, Cynthia! I'm glad it's a blood clot and nothing worse for your DIL.
