oldrooster, The older I get, the more I realize that idiots abound, and there are always a few in the family tree. While it can be infuriating at the time, later you do have to chuckle that for someone so educated, he's not smart enough to figure out how to get his insurance settlement, and you were. Had it been my brother, I would have started laughing at him, saying "neener, neener, neener, you are an idiot". He would have hung up on me, and I'd be laughing about it every time I thought about it, for days.

So frustrating! I'd be reluctant to take his calls. You know they say common sense is not common. DH has a niece that's always been an honor student. Graduated with honors, MBA, magna cum lude, blah, blah, blah. This chick is dumb as a box of rocks, literally not an ounce of common sense. Its baffling & extremely difficult to watch.

I was talking about something else on Facebook today and a friend said that people like this in my post here and on FB on another topic similar in stupidity said he thought they were retarded, I corrected him, saying retarded people have more intelligence than that and he just insulted retarded people, and followed it by saying it was a shame "normal" people act like they have less intelligence than retarded persons.... later he came back and had to say I was correct, that it was true and a sad state of the human population....

If you know his address, send him one of those potty training videos, with a note saying that, since he's too stupid to figure out how to get his insurance settlement, that as a good brother, you just wanted to make sure he still knew where to poop, and how to wipe his butt. Sheesh.

He takes after mom's side of the family, many people vote on either the person or or the platform of a political party, and he and mom's side vote strictly on what letter that is behind the name..., and many other things I find stupid, I know I should not make political remarks here but I will try to keep it so no one knows what political parties I am talking about or the persons involved. I once mentioned a local US Representative spoke at a community college and he was from my district and was in the same line of work as my dad was for many years, and I mentioned something he said and the life insurance idiot said oh because of this guy's political party affiliation I know he's a liar and he's doing xyz and not as he's saying. I replied that it would be stupid if he did as you said in mixed political company because if he lied the thing he said could easily be checked and he could have had his rump in a sling 5 ways to Sunday, my other brother said he didn't think the guy was lying because in his work history the company he had worked for at one time dealt with similar issues and dealt with them in a similar manner and thought said brother was an idiot for those reasons.

I used to take my scantron tests in school based on fairness of ABC&D all getting equal amounts of bubbles. … I actually study & am more thorough in choosing my politicians & propositions. Maybe that's why they don't let the under 18 set vote.

Its embarrassing, but true. I sometimes made zig zag patterns too. I'm pretty sure the Los Angeles public school district in the 80's didn't give a crap about what was being turned in. Either that or I was extremely lucky with my guesses. I've honestly learned more homeschooling my kids the last few years than I did in my entire public school career.

I too learned very little in the school system... except that I didn't like being bullied. And some kids are crazy hung up on clothes with name brands.

I learned a lot in School. Of course I counseled myself and took the advanced courses.
