My leukemia's back.

There is a scooper, to be used every day. When the litter looks, and smells "used", usually weekly, depending on the size of your litter box, that's when to dump, and put in new. It's not really that hard. Use a grocery bag for the stuff you scoop out, tie the top, and take it to the outside garbage.

That isn't a good picture of ginger she was staring me down.

Shxt I gotta figure out how to do kitty litter
Lovely animals! They need you, you need them. Everyone wins :D

Depending on if there is something to Al's question or you just haven't been the one doing it:
I use unscented (who needs the perfume stink!?!?) scoopable litter. I pretty much never dump the entire box. We have 3 cats and scoop the box twice a day. Easiest way to remember is to do it right after feeding them in the morning and again in the evening. Since nothing stays too long in the box it doesn't stink and the cats aren't using a dirty box. I can't even imagine how people can let the cat(s) use the same box for a week as it fills up with pee and poop then dump it :sick. I use bread bags or the zipper bags from the deli, when they are full they go in the trash.

Yeah we'r have the scoopable stuff here

Hey, I have the scoopable stuff too, and scoop every evening. I still dump it once a week, wash the litter box out, and begin anew. No, I don't let it build up for a week. I have one of those plastic cement mixing pans from Home Depot, that is nice and big.
