My leukemia's back.

The Zometa infusion is what prevented me from getting mine. I had my flu shot the previous year, so it was not yet time to get the new shot. It ran out in November, but there is a 3.6 month wait after the Zometa infusion, which is the end of this month, before I can get this year's flu shot. I had to have the infusion, so I wasn't like I had a big choice.
I figured!

It would best for those with compromised immune systems if more would get the flu shot!

We are not doing well at all with this one

I got the flu shot because my stepdad is immunocompromised, and had respiratory issues. (He also gets it, plus whatever pneumonia shots he can.) I also have a baby granddaughter and a pregnant daughter in law, and I work in a Petri dish. (Our local schoo. I work both in the high school and elementary parts of our building.)

My Brother works at a high school and was tested for measles immunity. Even though he had the inoculations as a child in the 60s to 70s He is not immune! I need to get that test to because I work at UC Davis with a lot of students frm all over the place

That is an interesting question Clue. I'm in that boat with you and ASSUME I have immunity. Could be we don't.

Looks like WE are safe:
"Is it true that some people can’t get measles?
Yes. Some people are immune to measles, meaning that their body has already learned how to fight off the virus, and they won’t become sick from it. People can become immune to measles in two ways. Natural immunity: those who got sick with measles earlier in life will be immune afterward, and they won’t get it again. Vaccine-based immunity: 97/100 people who have been vaccinated with 2 doses of measles vaccine have long-term immunity to measles."

Note the "will be immune afterward" and "have long-term immunity" difference.

You should be immune for life if you had measles

The vaccine was not very good back then. The current one is though
I had the vaccine still got both the three day measles and the hard measles.... nicer got the mumps though.... my mom and brother did.
Had to get all those shots over though when i got my bone marrow transplant....
