My leukemia's back.

Okay, here’s the news. It ain’t good. The lump under her arm is benign. But the other two biopsies came back as cancer. They are setting up her surgical consult and assigning her an oncologist. That’s all we know at the moment. I wish I could cuss on here….I have a backlog of bad words that are dying to burst out!
Well... with the lymph node benign, hopefully that means it hasn't spread out of the breast.

So, that is a good.

2 spots in the same breast is worrisome, because they might need to take the entire breast, instead of just a lumpectomy. However, reconstructive surgery is pretty great nowadays.

:hugs

Sucks hugely... and she is so young!

:hugs :hugs

Sorry to hear that Blooie. I don't recall where little Diane is located but if you get the chance, give her a hug for me. :hugs

No, thank the Good Lord. The one lump in the lymph node under her armpit was benign and on ultrasound the rest looked good. She says if they start talking just taking out this lump and that one, repeat, repeat every time a new one shows up, she’s gonna tell them to just “whack them both off”. That’s what her mom did, so Little Diane is already comfortable with that process and thought pattern. She also said today “I barely have enough to make the lettering on my t-shirts stand out” and she’d rather live a long life without them than living a potentially short life with them. That’s my girl!!

She’s just 27. Her mom was 24 when she had her hysterectomy shortly after Little Diane was born, and a couple of years later the cancer was back in her breasts so she had a double mastectomy. I was 23 when I had cervical cancer. So it’s not real surprising….Little Diane has also been on birth control for years, which I‘m sure contributed somewhat.

She’s still back in Sioux Falls, SD. I wish I could give her hugs - I need them from her as much as she needs them from me. The house has us tied down right now or I’d go back for her surgery.

My cousin, when she got breasr cancer immediately had both removed... for her it was much less stress.

She had reconstruction done at the same time, and thought it was wonderful. She is a little "fluffy" so was thrilled that they took some of her own belly fat to make her new breasts.

Little Diane doesn't have any fat to reposition.... but implants supposedly are great... if she wants fake ones. :idunno

Cuss all you d@mn well please Blooie!!! We've likely heard them all anyway though maybe Sailor Ken brought home a few extra from his years in the navy.

Poor Little Diane. If it weren't for her bad luck she'd have no luck at all. To lose all her pets is awful and the timing couldn't be worse.

People have beat breast cancer for decades, DW's aunt, born in 1909, did and that was some time before I met her in 1989. There is very likely a good outcome for LD though that doesn't help with the stress and fear now.

:hugs for you and her both :hugs

Nope, no fake ones for her. She’s built exactly like her mother, and Terrin never got them either. Terrin figured there were so many great bras out there for women with mastectomies that it just wasn’t necessary. Neither of them have much to miss anyway. Terri’s SO got her act-shirt that said, “Does this shirt make my chest look AWOL?” She wore that thing out she wore it so much. :lau

I‘m okay now, really. I’m taking my cues from Little Diane and she’s scared but she ain’t hanging crepe yet, so neither will I. ;)

Blooie, I am a 14 year breast cancer survivor. I was initially diagnosed with 5 lumps. 3 on one side, 2 on the other, and in the lymph nodes on both sides. I was stage 3.

The good news is that it's not in the lymph nodes yet. More good news is, if she has a good oncologist, and surgeon, she can live a long, productive, happy life.

You, meaning all of you, are in my prayers.
