My leukemia's back.

No I'm serious the woman cannot cook....

I can cook but it is not recognisable as FOOD...your Mom and I came from the same cookery school...!

When I do a head count, I only know the 3 roos by sight. All the rest get counted by color. 3 Black and white, 10 black, Mama Pioneer and her 5 dtrs, and the 5 partridges (in a pear tree). Even then, it's hard to do a beak count b/c they are in constant motion.

hey, my too, that's how I do my ducks and peachicks. I have been feeling bad because not all have names. but I can keep up with colors. 4 brown appleyard hens, 2 silver, 2 drakes, etc... peachicks go... 5 white, 1 grey, 1 brown, 4 pied, etc.....

I have a mix of names and numbers, and it gets complicated! I count out Agatha, Mathilda, Daphne (yes, she's still out there eating and taking up space), Gladys, Twins 1&2, Frog, and Bumblebee - those are the EEs. Then we get to the Brahmas - 8 Buff, check, 4 Lights, check. After that I look for the Red Sex Links - Ida, Dora, Cinnamon, Three and 4. And there'd better be one Kat, Buff Oprington, and 1 Edith and 1 Cora, Cuckoo Marans. I confuse myself most of time time unless I do it that way. Now, did that equal 28? Whoops, wait......now I'm down by 6 EEs. 6 Buff Brahmas, and 2 Light Brahmas - how did I forget that car ride?

Ours are 1/2 named and 1/2 not. We look for all the roos, because they get kicked out the coop. They sleep in the lean to shelter. There's Snowman, Sue, Crooked Waddles, Mr T, Gimpy (He limped for a while because DH accidently ran over his leg with the zero turn-he's fine now), then there are 3 unnamed roosters that stay in a chicken tractor and King Tut who sleeps in an old green house. Then the girls....we have Bad Eye, Bunny, Turkey, Lily, Ice, Pumpkin, Crystal, Nubs, Penny, Miss Layalot, Dixie, Blossom, Sunny, Sunset, Darkness, Grumpy, Loudmouth, Marshmallow and I think that's it. The rest are unnamed. We rarely count, but we know if they are missing.

I do a head count by breed. They all have names but it's easier to go: 3 Reds (sex links), 3 Barreds, 2 Specks (Sussex), 1 EE and 1 RIR (she's easy, she's in her own mini-world). I don't have near the numbers of birds you guys do, sometimes I have trouble keeping track of these 10 rascals.
