My leukemia's back.

"Dew point -27?" That's sarcasm, right?

Sheesh, I was unhappy cause it was in the 40s yesterday when we were fishing

. Should have seen me all bundled up in thermals and gloves and layers!

But we had a good time and caught about 2 dozen fish amongst the 8 of us. No one else wanted to take theirs home, so we had trout for dinner and lots in the fridge. They're just stockers, probably just under 12 inches each, but decent eating and fun to catch. And the nice thing is, since they're all the same-ish size, baking them is a breeze. It was a fun day.

Breathing is still holding steady, so maybe I'm good on the 15 of prednisone. I know it can take a while to regulate, so we'll just keep an eye on things. Sugars are doing better. Now I just need to get to the Y more often and work on strengthening my knee, it's starting to give me issues again. And the overall muscle weakness and fatigue. Wish there was some way to work my memory also, but I'd probably forget to do that......

Rachael...good deal on the breathing...I was going to pm you yesterday to tell you how stupid I was...i decided to stop my prednisone all together...I seemed ok on 5mg a day. So after two days off of it breathing took a noise dive. So I went back on 5mg a day....didn't work...ended up having to do a 20mg burst.....I think it's all tied into the temps.....I don't take any during the summer. Where's the fish pics?....on some threads no pics...it didn't happen....;)
Keep me informed on your progress with the prednisone...we're kind of kindred spirits in that department........Phil

That she is, a cute little girl.

How many grandchildren do you have Phil?
Is this the only one?

Is there a thread anywhere for grandchildren?

I didn't take any pics. We're just not picture people, apparently. I know with the phones it's kind of a picture world, but we just don't think of it. Old school, I guess. But you know what a foot long rainbow trout looks like, just multiply that by 24

. That was what was in my oven last night.....they tasted great! Now I just have to figure out what to do with the leftovers. Thankfully Honey loves to eat fish. We've had enough lately, usually I can't get enough but I'm finally maxed out. Kind of burnt out on eggs, too. doesn't happen too often, but every once in a while I simply can't eat another egg. It was cereal for breakfast this morning.

Sorry about the failed dc on the prednisone. I do agree the weather could have a lot to do with it. I'm glad I had the talk with the pulmo guy and understand I'll probably be on it to some degree always. I can handle playing with the dose, tapering or bursting as needed, if I understand that's what's going to happen. Do you ever go with the 1mg tabs? or just 5 mg changes? I'm wondering if the 1mg would be worth messing with, if it would really make that much difference.

Anyone on here take Glucophage/metformin? My pcp started me on it for my sugars and I think it's doing a job on my stomach. She told me it could cause nausea. The RX is for 1000mg XR tabs, 1 or 2 with evening meal. I was taking 2 at night, but was awake on and off all night with nausea. I split the dose to one in the am, one in the pm, now I'm just kind of nauseated or have an unhappy stomach all the time. Any ideas? I do take it with food, and I'm eating okay still. Just wondering if anyone else has had the same thing. I really don't want to take nausea meds to tolerate my diabetes meds.......course, I'd like to get off the diabetes meds altogether, but with the steroids just not sure if that's happening.

I'm going to put together a meal for our friends who lost his mom last week, using the chicken breast I got on a great sale. My standby is Farmhouse Chicken, basically a creamed chicken with a stuffing topping. Anyone have any other ideas?
