Please tell me that everyone has days, or weeks like this......I'm feeling under the weather, the meds don't really seem to be helping much, or not as quickly as I need them to. Anyway, Thursday I went back to the coop, fed, watered, collected eggs. Came back to the house coughing my guts out, set the bucket of 32 eggs on the dryer, went to the restroom to wash up. Started dinner then started a load of clothes in the washer. The washing machine is old and likes to wiggle a bit. But it's never been a problem.....until now. Yeah. You all know that bucket flew on the ground and busted every egg. I quickly gathered them up, smashed them, mixed them with chicken scraps and fed them back to the chickens.
Last night, DH and DD went to yearly father daughter dance

. I went out to the coop, did the usual Saturday chores which includes emptying out the 9 rabbit pans, scraping the roost poles and the usual feed & water routine. So, I went in as usual thru the laundry room, looked back at the coop, the winds were howling and it was snowing sideways, not sticking, just nasty out. So, I see a piece of the roof blow off the coop. I placed the bucket of eggs (29) on the dryer......run back to the coop, fix the roof at least temporarily. Went about my night.
This morning, without thinking, I had DD put a load of wash in the washer. Yeah....again. They all busted, I had one big mess to clean up, and the chickens ate their eggs, again.
Well, tonight, I put the bucket of eggs (32) on the counter in the kitchen
