My leukemia's back.

After the mid winter barbecue, and I suggest it would be fitting to have it on Feb 2. Perhaps we can find a whistle pig to toss on the barbey, perfectly seasoned and marinaded, of course. (On my bucket list to try various typed of game.) Grilled veggies, followed by a dessert buffet. Hey, did you guys know the true definition of a calorie: Calorie: A unit of measurement that defines how good a certain food item tastes. The calorie measurement of any given food item is directly proportional to the flavor of said item. Consumption of food items with higher calorie and flavor index are proven to be better for one's emotional health.

I wholeheartedly agree with the definition you have!

LG, you'd also appreciate the formula my Honey came up with years and years ago....

G=F2

(Grease=Flavor, Squared)

words to live by, I'm telling you!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. Sunshine for everyone, if not, pop some extra Vitamin D and fake it

Can lead a person to knowledge, but can't make them think..
Unfortunately for you, you aren't dispensing knowledge, what you have gotten hold of is mostly misinformation, and you are too naive and uneducated to know the difference. The sites you keep shoving at us are tabloid journalism at its finest - a tiny grain of truth, perhaps, buried under an enormous mountain of hype and hoopla.
Even the titles scream of it. "Such and Such Cures This," "This or That Proven." That's not "science;" not remotely. The scientific mind is naturally skeptical and cautious; a person with a background in science knows that they can't cure anything, and they never "prove" anything. That's one of the most basic rules of science - "a thousand experiments can't prove me right, but a single experiment can prove me wrong." A scientist works with theory, and finds support for his theory (or not), but he never claims to have proven something.

You accuse us of not thinking - sorry, kiddo, but you are the one not doing the critical thought. A person should always keep an open mind, but not so open that their brain falls out.That business about how if holistic doesn't help, it never hurts isn't even true. Everything is a combination of risks and benefits; you have to weigh them against each other and decide which is more important. You mentioned honey; lots of people sing its praises as a wound dressing, etc. Honey, being a natural product, is loaded with bacteria, and a person with a compromised immune system can get an infection from it (it is advised that children under the age of 2 not even be allowed to eat honey, their immature immune systems can allow them to get food poisoning from it). And people like me, with a serious allergy to bees, shouldn't be exposed to anything that has to do with bees, because it can trigger an allergic reaction. So however helpful it might be for some, it can be extremely harmful for others; just because it is natural doesn't always make it safe.

The thing I find most irksome about this whole business is that the proponents can't just say, "I have a better way" and let people judge for themselves. Interwoven with that message is always a whole heap of "there's a big HAIRY, SCARY "THEY" out there that has making you miserable as their sole purpose to exist, and we are fighting our way through a whole wilderness of THEM to bring you this message of hope and light." Give me thoughtful discourse, and I will give you a fair hearing. Start trying to scare me with boogeymen, and I know you for what you are, and stop listening.

You have been asked repeatedly to stop this, please go spread your gospel of fear and ignorance somewhere else.

problem is I didn't say anything wrong so how can I keep from doing it again is all... I always try to be helpful and thought I was doing so..... Oh well.

It was not likely so much what was said but getting the thread cleaned up from the posts that were offensive.

One of the rules of BYC is that we do not post about moderation.
