My leukemia's back.

I hope you get in to see a cardiologist soon. The right combo of meds can make a huge difference! I just started a new contract with my job reviewing heart failure patient charts, and have read about so many patients getting better with good care. (Moving an EF of 25 up to 50!). Hang in there and I'm hoping you feel better quickly.

Me? I'm doing pretty well. I decided to do a low carb, high fat, moderate protein diet on January 1. Down 23 pounds so far and when I maintain ketosis, I'm never hungry and have a lot more energy. DH is convinced I'm going to have a heart attack from the way I'm eating, but I'll have labs checked in June and see how it compares to last year. Good thing I have chickens, since I'm eating so many eggs these days!

Sure wish I was hatching though. We decided to cut back the flock this year so no new ones until I cull some more. Hoping your Marans make it - I love those little tuxedo babies.

congrats on the weight loss and feeling better!

Honey was doing the same diet for quite a while. He lost 120lbs and was doing well. Job stress got to him, though, and he fell off the wagon. He's not good about moderation, so he's gained a lot of weight back. That's one reason that diet was good for him, he could still eat a LOT of food and lose weight.

I tried it, but apparently with my meds, I can't be in ketosis. It threw my electrolytes all out of whack and I was really not doing well. I've done it in the past and knew there's usually the three day "keto flu" adjustment period, but this was for 2 weeks, and my labs were all over the place. so, not for me, I guess. His labs were always fine, and mine were when I did that years ago, before I got diagnosed. Cholesterol, etc always perfect

. I hope it continues to work well for you, and your labs are vindicating!

I'm hearing increased chirping from the hatcher---had pips earlier today. Not really expecting hatches until Monday, so this is cool! Maybe lopsided chicks hatch faster?

Dang I've always done well on that diet. Never got that energy plung.
I've heard of it. I usually end up having to stop cause I drop to much weight and can't stop losing even when I get farther down the road on it. So I fall off the wagon cuz once I have one coke is over and all the weight comes back. My addiction to Colas is the one I can never shake. I can quit smoking and drinking. But Colas Them are my weaknesses.

I switched to diet pop a long time ago. Then I figured that since caffeine never did anything for me, I would drop that also. So I drink diet caffeine -free pop. Used to be Pepsi, till in their ultimate wisdom dumped aspartame for other artificial sweeteners. Bad aftertaste. Went back to Coke. My friends laugh and say I am drinking brown water. It doesn't taste like water and I am happy with it.

I am very much addicted to ice cream though, the surge in prices is helping me eat less. It is hard to break any addiction. I always think people just trade one for another. I do.

I've tried every kind of diet pop cannot do it..... When i drop pop altogether I'm good but eventually I cave.

I've drank diet soda pretty much all my life. the regular stuff tastes horrible to me. that was one thing I loved about OHSU, on my floor they had Diet Coke stocked in the fridge. My CNAs learned to just bring me one when they came to wake me up for vitals, etc. Sweet girls!

So...baby chicks! Sadly, lots of white head spots---I told those little boys they can just climb right back in their shells

see I'm the opposite can't stand diet soda ... But for a while after I got out of the hospital I couldn't drink soda at all it was way too sweet.... I guess it's what your used too. I can't take the aftertaste of diet soda. If they could illuminate that I'd be okay.
