I just came across this thread and I want you to know I have been praying for you since I Pm'd you on the questions about chicken breeds.

Lots of iced tea. I worked today, and made a glass of iced tea, but looking forward to having some of the real good tea with you folks. Did any one remember to bring the lemon? I brought pizza: mushroom, onion, diced pepperoni, extra cheese and sauce. Rachel, how're you doing???

Finally, day T+1

Not that I'm excited about the yucky things ahead of me, but good golly Miss Molly I was tired of just hanging out here.

transplant was anticlimactic, as advertised. Pretty much like getting a blood transfusion, except more monitoring and some emergency meds at the bedside "just in case". I'm like, just in case what? Oh, in case you have a hypotensive reaction and we lose your blood pressure......uh, gee, nope, not planning on that! Turns out, they gave me Benadryl as a pre med and I dozed through most of the actual transfusion. No reactions, no nothing. Kind of a non-event from an immediate perspective. Now, we wait for my own cells to continue to die off and the new cells to establish a hold. We want the new cells to kill off my old leukemia cells, but not go so wild they kill ME off in the process. Apparently it's a delicate balance between getting enough graft vs host disease to keep the leukemia away, but not so much you can't function. I'm glad my doctors are smart folks. I'm so slouch, but this stuff can make my head spin.


I'm sending prayers still for my donor....I'm calling him Sean in my mind....I pray you had minimal pain and someone is caring for you as you recover. I can't thank you enough for this gift you gave me. I pray the Lord sends you blessings and watches over you and yours. Thank you so much.


They pumped me full of steroids yesterday, so I'm getting really hungry looking at all the food! You all are amazing, who knew such love and support would be found on a website about chickens? Sourland has truely spoken the truth about friends being the family you make for yourself. You all are wonderful

Still rocking from Blooie's not liking chocolate, though.......but I love banana bread and could forgive her pretty much anything cause her tag line about Oleo Acres being the Cheaper Spread always makes me grin

Glad to see you so upbeat! Also glad you are not having any problems. I am hoping you can eat GOOD food soon. We would be there with you if we could........
