My leukemia's back.

Thanks all for the advice. I'll repot the start, since I really don't expect it to bloom this year anyway. I'm not touching the pretty salmon one, though. I'd cry if those blossoms withered and died.

So, kind of cool thing happened this afternoon. Phone rang and it was one of the pulmonologists, like the actual doctor himself calling me. He asked if I'd had a pulmonary function test done already--yep, done in October. Had I had one before? yep, a pre-transplant as a baseline, in Feb. What were the results of the baseline? completely normal, 94-97% of predicted values. Silence for a moment, then he says "and now you're down to 45%?" Yep. Another bit of silence, then "What are you doing tomorrow?". "Well, sir, sounds like I'm coming to see you." And just like that, I have an appointment to see a pulmonologist tomorrow at 3pm.

And not quite as cool as that, but since this is a chicken forum...my faithful cuckoo Marans gave me two eggs today! I don't really like it, cause I don't want her to have any problems, but hey, two eggs is two eggs. They're a touch smaller than her usual XL, and I'll crack them tomorrow and see if they're normal inside, but they look fine. No wonder she was making such a fuss about laying today!

Blooie, you'd never off Ken. You'd be completely lost without him.

I always disliked giving folks B12. It's nasty looking stuff, even though they always say it never bothers them.

I'm wondering if I need to get my levels checked, or otherwise investigate my cramps in my hands. The Drs have always said it's just my potassium or magnesium, but I've got those back up in normal ranges and still having cramps. Makes crocheting a challenge, and chopping veggies. Thankfully I've not cut myself....yet.

Rachel, that's wonderful news about the call from the pulmonologist...I like the sounds of that guy! It's so nice to find someone responsive.

Good morning Team!

So I'm up, Ken's already at work in his office, bed is made, floors vacuumed, and suddenly the wind literally slammed in from the North. BAM! No breezy turning to windy first, just BAM! It's blowing so hard that this old trailer house is rocking. Branches, including one that's two inches in diameter and at least 6 feet long, are being stripped from our "self-pruning" giant trees and slamming into this place with attitude and snow is being driven into the windows with a chinking sound, like little hailstones.

The north side of the trailer is quite literally slamming into the headboard of our bed. Ken came out of the office and just shook his head. "Somebody in there is having a darn good time and it ain't me." Methinks we're gonna be real glad we got the run covered this weekend after we got back from Sheridan. Me also thinks that there is no culling going to be done today. <sigh> I guess we could go ahead and do the killing part, then hang them by their feet on the clothesline. After 10 minutes, their feathers should be blown into Colorado and they'll be ready for the fridge.

Edited to add: A doctor who makes calls to patients, discusses things with her, then makes an appointment for her? Unheard of - snag that guy and hold on!

Grrrrrrr I'm looking in desperation for a short haircut for my thinning hair, the lovely effect of which is complete with obnoxiously large cowlick right in the back! Makes the back near the crown look like I'm bald back there, and I spend way too much time trying to backcomb and cover the shining pink scalp back there. But try Googling "short haircuts for older women with thinning hair" and look at the majority of the results......why do "they" think they're helping me when the models for these "short haircuts for older women with thinning hair" are 15 years old with the same kind of thick mop I had when I was younger????

Oh Blooie, don't even get me started on hair cuts. I always, always hated getting my hair cut. In a way, chemo was a blessing cause I didn't have to worry about it

. Now, my hair's almost 2inches long all over, I hadn't trimmed or cut anything, just letting it grow. I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep it short, so I decided to have Honey trim it over the ears cause it was getting bushy. I didn't think I needed to go in somewhere just to have them trim it up. Well, he did okay-ish. I'll probably have it shaped some in a few weeks. but I hate, hate, hate trying to convey the image in my head to the stylist, and I can never seem to find a picture of what I want. I would literally rather go to the dentist than get a haircut
