My leukemia's back.

I hate that I've apparently lost my ability to use/learn new things easily. Not sure how much is the chemo, and how much is just age. Then again, I never ever liked getting a new phone. Change is bad

I never had that ability -

I especially have negative mechanical aptitude. Hope that you are still dealing with 'chemo brain' - that should improve. The aging bit just continues to get worse.

You should see my phone - it has been called an antique by many, but it works for me. After all isn't a phone meant to send and receive calls?

I don't know...I'm thinking of trying to hatch some of my own....excited. I'd like to expand some how...I want rabbits. I thought about getting a couple of chickens and pheasants. I guess I'm kinda like you up in the Air right now.
I can't believe you don't have chickens! Always amazed when I meet a BYC person who has no chickens! Should be re-named BYC or BYF. Gotta have some chickens! Interested in hatching???

We have rabbits...I much prefer the chickens. Chickens have more personality and I love their eggs (which are in short supply right now due to molting). DH pretty much handles our rabbits and that's fine with me. I don't hate them, I just like the birds much, much more

Good morning Rachel and everyone!

Rachel, it's good to hear your breathing is getting a bit better. Welcome to the new smart phone era...I feel your pain! We had to switch over from our "dumb" phones to the smart phones about a year ago. There are probably features on mine I still haven't figured out but as long as I can make/receive phone calls, text DH and take a few photos, I'm good. Neither one of us are all that big on spending time on the telephone anyway.

Hope everyone has a good day!

We have a red dial phone like that in the basement! I have a stupid phone, and don't even know how to text. I never check my messages, b/c I don't want to pay for a bunch of junk. Only use it to catch up to hubby when we get separated when shopping. Or if my vehicle breaks down, which seems to be a fairly frequent occurrence lately. Killed the mouse in the car, not until after he had made a total mess of it from one end to the other. He took the poison under the hood, and then crawled into the glove compartment to die and ooze body fluids all over everything in there. YUCK! hubby did the clean up. Now... that's a super way to gain brownie points IMO!!!

My phone is my life.....you might think that is sad but how do you think I'm talking to all of you right now.
I'm not stuck sitting in my chair to do it...(well right now I am)....also is not so bad most of where I live there is no good signal so then is just a pocket warmer.

I do think there are going to be some good things about having the smart phones, but honestly for being on the internet--mostly byc and craigslist, for me, I'll probably always prefer the desktop.

Honey's new job is pretty text-intense, that's how they all communicate. His old phone was not only a dumb phone, but he was still pressing the button twice for the letter B, three times for C....texting was quite the labor for him! So hopefully the new phone will smooth his job.

I was at the fabric store yesterday and found two different horse prints for Echo's pillow. I realized if I knew how to use my phone, I could send him a pic of them and let him chose which one he wanted. I don't know how to do that yet, so I just bought both

. I figured, hey, it's a horse print, I'll just use the one he doesn't want. Then of course the horse prints were right next to the chicken prints--wound up spending over $40 on fabric

. I'm so not allowed to go in there again!

It's a beautiful, cold day here. I asked Honey if he can build me a shelf out of some old fence boards, we'll take a look and see if they're still usable. He started using the old manure pile to fill in our pond, I'm always amazed how just letting horse poop set in a pile for a year or so works magic and turns it into beautiful compost. I'd love to put this on the garden, but it's full of fist sized river rocks and I don't especially want those in my garden. It's a shame, though, cause the rest of it is lovely! Oh well, we'll start a new pile. We put several loads of decomposed granite down last year, so no more river rock. it will make a wonderful garden amendment next year. I may go out and screen a few trash bags worth to use in pots, though. That should be doable to get the rocks out of a smaller amount like that.

We had a fabric store here that had a bumper sticker that read, "She who dies with the most fabric wins."

So, so dangerous for a fiber artist to cross the threshold of one of these places . . . .

Rachel, when you make something with the chicken fabric you'll have to share a picture!

Bunny, funny bumper sticker

I'm home! Didja miss me?

Guess who got out of the hospital in time for Thanksgiving? Yep, Ash! Her pox have completely dried up and although her counts are still low and she needs IV antibiotics through her Pic line, Jenna does that at home. They obviously didn't come for Thanksgiving dinner - she got out the evening before and it would have been stupid to risk it, but it was enough to know she was home with her folks, her sister, and her brothers. She did make it over for Linda's (my sister, her gramma) annual tree trimming party, and she looked amazing for having just been so sick.

I'll post a photo in a bit - it's on my iPad and I need to transfer it over. Wait until you see how great and happy she looks. I'm telling you, if we look up the definition of pure determination in the dictionary Ashley's photo is there!

I learned something else while we were in South Dakota this week.....with this new haircut I need ear muffs. <sigh>

donrae, my husband started going to town with me and I thought "wow, after 27 years of marrage he finally likes to go to town (30 miles away) with me." WRONG, he just figured out it was cheaper for him to go follow me around. don't know how he thought that would work he rarely suggest "no", hardly ever says no and when he does I usually do what I want anyway. That's bitten me in the butt a few times, but I won't admit that to him
roll.png
. Marriage is knowing "they" were right, "you" were wrong but never actually having to admit it. when they know you know they were right and you were wrong and that's enough for them. anyway I have several stores I can never go to alone... pet stores, stines lumber, home hardware, tractor supply.. to name a few. tractor supply is to me like most people's wal mart experience. and I always seem to find something I don't need, but I might need at stines lumber.. is this normal? ... and I can never buy one animal (it might get lonely), and I can never leave only one left - I just have to buy it too (it might get lonely being left behind). so that's why I can never go to these places alone. I do love my hubby for putting up with me.

God bless the Picc line! They make so many more things possible at home or in an outpatient setting. I'm so glad she got to go home, and I'll bet her family was happy to not eat an institutional dinner

We just got home from seeing Mockingjay in the theater. It's one of the few movies I wanted to go to the big screen for, and thankfully Honey had some movie passes from work. It was nice to have a family night out. Now, I'll be sending them all off to school and work tomorrow so I can have my house back to myself. Together time is good, but it was a long weekend
