My leukemia's back.

Okay, that Gingerbread House is officially WAY cute! Good job! I've never made one....they scare the pee-wadding out of me. Evan makes a train one every year. He and Tam have a great time doing it and every year he gets better and better at it. I should probably try one....I dunno...
A train! What a cool idea.

You guys HAVE to see Blooie's gingerbread entry! LMAO

@Blooie between that and your deviled eggs, you should put together a cook book. I'd pay good money for that!

Hey, ginger and bread. Looks like you've got the bases covered to me!

for folks that want to enter the contest but are intimidated by gingerbread, try graham crackers instead. They're pretty cheap, they're durable and super easy to find. they're all uniform size and can break in half easily.

Keep your royal icing covered with a damp towel to keep it from turning to cement before you can use it.

Edible glitter used to be very easy to find, and adds a nice sparkle to your snow.

Now you all have me wanting to make a gingerbread house....I've not made one for years and years. I really don't have the space here, and the last thing we need is a ton of candy laying around. just upped the prednisone again and really, really don't want to pack on more weight!

I just found a couple of pictures of Evan and his very first gingerbread train....he was 5 when he made it.

Wow, he made that when he was 5?!? That's very good. Heck, that would be good for me and I'm a day or two older than 5. Way to go Evan! Blooie, you're going to have to show us the latest one he comes up with when he makes it.

Rachel, when I was surfing the Internet for how to make things with gingerbread I saw a lot of pictures. Some of the prettiest ones I saw didn't have candy on them, they were all decorated in Royal Icing...all kinds of swirls and lacy looking stuff, for example. You could make one without candy, that would be cool!

Like this one:

Other than a few peppermint touches, there isn't any candy from what I see.

Yeah, but all that decoration would take patience, and I'd rather have the candy at this point

. Plus, hands aren't all that steady. It would look like....I can't think of a good character right off, but some crazy person's house.

Honey says we'll do one at Easter and use Peeps

An Easter gb house with Peeps would be fun! Sounds like a plan
