My leukemia's back.

Hey all, Anyone have any successful ideas for keeping hawks away? We had 9. Now we have 3. :-( They are in a fenced .5 acre pasture with a tree covering 1/5th of it. Not allowed to shoot it here. as it is a protected species. We are not wanting a rooster at this point. But if I have to keep feeding the hawk, I would prefer a rooster over my laying hens! It is big enough to carry away my Olivia at 8 Lbs. 8-0 Wishing I could strap on reverse vision mirrored glasses on it! LOL. Then looking down it would only see the sky and not my hens.
The only suggestion I have for you is to cover your run with netting. Hawks are evil creatures. I had one tear 2 of my girls to shreds.

Suzie, that's great motivation for me, thank you!

I may rig some long reins and just ground drive her a bit until Honey gets a mounting block built She's literally not been haltered or anything except when they've escaped the paddock in a few years. Well, I guess we've loaded them in a trailer to move to pasture and back home twice a year, but that's it. So I should work her a bit before just jumping on. And yeah, a helmet may not be a bad idea. Not sure there's much left there worth protecting

I feel like those annoying proud parents, but I got my first haircut in forever today! I know I had it cut sometime while I was in remission, but this is the first one in over a year. I'm not sure I'm thrilled, I think I wanted it tapered a bit shorter. I'm wanting it to look neat and tidy, and I'm not sure this is it. I'll shampoo tonight and see how I like it in the am, maybe go back for a re-do.

There's a girl who works at our local JoAnn's who has the prettiest lavender/purple color hair. I'm so tempted, but I think there's an age limit. I could have rocked that 20 years ago, but now I'm thinking it may just look kind of sad. I'll have to find some pretty clips instead.

I was watching 'The Layover', the Anthony Bourdain foodie show..Brazil, Sao Paulo and there was an older woman with purple hair and she was pulling it off.-Really well.
Sometimes lavender is too close to grey for my tastes. It works on really young faces, but past thirty It confuses me that it could be grey. I assume it is grey then decided it is badly done lavender.

I have seen pink, lavender, and light blue mixed together on blond hair and it is kind of nice.
I would go bright blue if I was in your position.
My hair has always been long and any decision I make is a big one.
If my hair was short and It was going to stay short, then I would try things, change my mind, try something else, then If it gets burnt wait a bit and cut it shorter and start over,
With long hair the mistake stays with you.

At our old place the neighbor kids called their GrandMa, Granma with tatoos. She had different hair colors too and did pull it off well.
