I remember fishing...use to get up every day and do some fishing
before I went to work. Made the day better.

Ice fishing - that thought brings back a memory or two. My older brother and I did that during a few years when my family lived in upper state New York. They had an ice fishing tournament every year . . . . As I recall, we had to buy minnows, that was the only thing the fish would bite on during the winter. Cold. cold. cold - I sure don't miss that part!

Rachel, your day at the lake sounds like fun.

Spook if you get cold wearing that sheet in the winter, maybe we can find you an electric one. They make electric blankets, maybe they make electric sheets too?

It seems a dog has adopted us. Very well behaved, friendly guy. Apparently he's someone's lost pet but no tags, just a choke chain. We called animal control but they can't pick him up until Monday. That kind of worries me because I could be fully attached by then. That's not a good idea right now, we're talking about moving and a big dog would complicate things. But he is such a love.

We made it up to our cabin for the Whiskey Flats Day celebration in Kernville... All my Guineas are fine! Hurray! I had a friend call apparently her husband can't make camping reservations so they didn't get a spot... So I invited her group to stay here... I am sleeping on the couch as I normally sleep here but I have 3 men and 3 dogs all sleeping around snoring. It's funny to listen to them. The little girl, mom and dad r in the bedroom. Sitting here reading posts... Makes me feel so fortunate about life. I feel blessed that I get to here everyone...the little girl, her name is Dallas calls me Fairy God Mudah... We had a tea party... Fed the Guineas ... And she drew with a sharpie on my table... She's so sweet when she's sleeping! I better get some sleep as she'll be a handful when she wakes. Feel well and loved everyone

NorthFLChick, I went ahead and ordered from Papa's Poultry. I put in the notes for them to ship at a later date due to freezing temps here now. I did check out Meyer and mt healthy, but in the end, I know hatcheries don't do selective breeding and I'm hoping for a better quality bird since I do intend on breeding these. Now, to convince hubby that the price I paid is worth it...... lol!

Sorry I don't get to hang out a lot anymore. Just have lots going on. I do get to lurk here and there and check on everyone. Have a great day! It just got up to 8F out there. Time to go water them.
