I think it was more of a "there's no water in them thair hills" thing. I guess for folks who don't want a garden or livestock, living with trucked water would be doable. Not so much for me.

Besides, around here the pot growers are keeping the water truck folks so busy I'm not sure I'd be able to compete to get deliveries

Oh yeah, we saw a beautiful place. 7 acres of level to rolling, dead end road, had been logged of soft wood but still had a lot of hardwood (madrone and oak) standing, some good places to put the animals (although no fences or outbuildings), a gorgeous house built in 2005 with 4 bedrooms, granite counter tops, double attached garage, skylights, jetted tub....just at the top of our price range. Lovely, right? The kicker----it has no well.  Are you kidding me? No water? Well, it's got a big ol holding tank and the water truck can come by twice a month.....unh hunh. Back to the MLS listings again.....

Why no well???

Okay so I wouldn't really have a problem with a holding tank but I wouldn't have horses either...I guess my question is...did anyone explore the well issue...or did they not even try.....I would think there must be water somewhere down there...I only say this cuz with the exception of the well...the place sounds great for you...:/

Our realetor's looking into it. It's in an area of very spotty water. One person close by drilled 4 wells and gets mud and sludge, they eventually wound up doing a shared well with a neighbor. Some have a high salt content I think she said? I've heard of iron, but not salt....anyway, we're getting research. Thing is, the price is right at the end of our range, with no cushion to drill a well or install outbuildings for animals, etc. It's beautiful, but probably a bit too much house for us.

Ok, Rachel. I shared your description of this property with my hubby. After he got done with the "What the... you're kidding, right???" He said, "They probably need a truck to come twice a month to empty the toilets too!"
