insurance change, i went from having all my diabetic/pump supplies covered @100% to now being subject to deductible PLUS 30%
and lots of other coverage changes
then quoted one price for an ultrasound but then they dont include the charge for the radiographer to read said ultrasound grrrrr

Ugh, what a pain. Sorry you have to deal with that.

Oh man, glad we have the ins. We do. TriCare is great. Have it because hubby is retired military. Will see if it is as great as we've experienced... have surgery set up for next Wed. for my shoulder. MRI's show a lot. I have several tears, some from aging, but some from my fall. I have fluid built up and swelling still going on from the fall. Plus, I have something that I do.. not ... remember the name of, peeling away from the ball joint bone. What? Crazy stuff. Sure was hard staying still in that machine, shoulder hurt so bad, but, you have to stay still. Or, you start over. Glad it's over. I will be in a sling for the first big holiday, and doing therapy still at Christmas. Prayers please, that this will all be worth it.

Prayers going up for everyone, and Cynthia, you are on the prayer list too. I too have had to ride the "plank" into the CT, and MRI machines. Sometimes the position they put you in, is extremely uncomfortable. Your doctor could have given you pain medication to take before riding the plank, so it would be more tolerable. I hope they gave you something for the pain afterwards.

Cynthia, I had an acromioplasty, as well as a lot of arthritic tissue cleaned out of the joint a number of years ago. Don't expect a quick recovery. I was non wt bearing for 3 months IIRC, and it took a full year to regain full range and feel completely normal again. It was well worth it, B/C I was not functional with that shoulder before. Will be thinking about you in my prayer life.

Alaska. One of the newer features in freezers is a lock. I love that feature. I can't tell you how many times I've crammed just one last thing in my fridge, or the freezer above it only to have things shift just a bit, and find that the door has been ajar all night long. We've never lost the contents b/c of that, but... for sure, it's an energy drain.

It might be cheaper. It's a gamble. The odds are in the Ins. Co. favor. After all, we know they are in it to make a profit, at the expense of the customer. But, get hit with a major surgery, a chronic disease, and it could completely wipe you out. Though, I believe that health care providers are required to provide treatment, and set up a reasonable payment plan. Realistically, we all know the likelihood that such a self pay customer "on a payment plan" would be most likely to find herself locked out of the system: "Sorry, we can't see you until next April. Sorry, this Doc is not accepting new patients. Sorry... this treatment, medication, these supplies are only available if you have an insurance company..."
