My leukemia's back.

No. Last week the doc aspirated some guck with a needle and sent it for culture. I go back Monday to get results. The other alternative is that it's not an infection, it's many different spots of internal radiation damage that my body is trying to get rid of. Pockets of liquefied fat that are extremely irritating to surrounding tissues. My ultrasound looks like Swiss cheese.

Can't tell you how many times I've heard "I've never seen this kind of reaction before". Gee, thanks.

 :hit

That sounds SO NASTY BAD!!!!!!

:hugs

Tired of being swollen and in pain, tired of it waking me up in the middle of the night, tired of going to doctors. But I'll survive.

Thanks for the support everyone. :hugs

I hope you feel better soon! Pain in the middle of the night is the worse thing.

results of the last procedure were..at absolute best, a 20% at 5 years survival rate .... but we probably don't have that, since my dad's health is so bad.

Average lifespan after diagnosis is 11 to 16 months.

Not sure yet if his rate of survival is higher or lower with surgery...that would have to remove a big chunk (1/3, or 1/2 ??) of his esophagus, put him back on a feeding tube, but with the caviat that he is to swallow nothing at all by mouth for about 3 months while the esophagus heals..not sure what you do with saliva..spit?

Consultant doc isn't sure that the surgery would help life length or quality... but my mom wasn't sure if they knew just how fast the cancer is growing.

My dad gets scanned for cancer alot (since his tongue cancer), I think every 3 or so months... and at this scan the Esophageal cancer is already 10cm. So.... must be a fast cancer.

I dunno.
