My leukemia's back.

Good morning Team Rachel. Working on a cup of coffee, trying to get my brain out of it's fog. I am so glad my cousin dragged me out to shop on Black Friday with her. There is an outlet mall near her house, and that's where we did most of our shopping, except for Toys R Us, which we hit first. The deals were incredible! I've never seen prices so low at Toys R Us, and I got everything I'm going to get, for my grandson, and most of what I'm getting for the granddaughters. I still have a couple things to get for the granddaughters, because they were sold out of the things I wanted to get them. That's ok. When we hit the outlet mall, we scored big. All Vera Bradly was 80% off. Gymboree (kids clothes) were $12.99, unless otherwise noted, and a lot was cheaper. They had pajama sets for $7.00. I can't get them that cheap at Wal Mart, and these are really nice. Dresses that were over $35.00, I got for $12.99. I got my grandson a few outfits too. I was soooo tired by the time I got home, and got everything unloaded, but so pleased with the prices.

Wishing you the best, and most of what you are needing in your life.

I did my Black Friday shopping at the hardware and grocery stores. The first for a new thermostat and 2 quarts of winter weight oil for the garden tractor. The second because, well, FOOD!

Those stores weren't busy at all. I wouldn't go out to Black Friday sales shy of being hogtied and dragged. I don't like shopping when it isn't crazy packed with people pushing to get the "specials".

thank ya!

Huh... don't think I have ever had Quebec maple syrup..but it has been awhile since we have bought the real stuff.
I only eat real maple syrup...... It's one of my quirks.....I buy my syrup and my honey local.
There are quite a lot of syrupers around here too... There's a bunch of maples out back I thought about tapping them.
Wouldn't take to many to get enough for me and the wife.

40 gallons of sap per gallon of syrup. Since you need to evaporate off so much water, do it in a wide rectangular container, not a big stock pot. And don't do it in the house, some of the sugar apparently manages to lift off with the steam and you don't want all the surfaces getting sticky. I've never tapped or boiled but I think for "only enough for your own use" quantities some people do it on a BBQ.

Dark stuff is for cooking with. Though some people like it on their pancakes/waffles as well.

Yeah Never boil it off in your house..... Sticky.
I think I could use someone's syrup shack to boil down a batch. I know a few people around here who have them.....
