Years ago, I had a friend who used to tap. They would use fresh sap to make coffee. That was before I was a coffee drinker, but I bet it was yummy.
Bruce, agreed with you re: Black Friday. My SIL went out Thursday night. He got home at 8:15 AM. Um. I'd prefer sitting in NFC's jail cell with that chocolate cake! We went out today. A trip to Lowes netted:
A bird bath/feeder and a pole to hang it from for MIL. Check.
Super nice insulated leather gloves for hubby. I protest the fact that it's impossible to find insulated leather work gloves to fit a woman's hand.
More hyacinth bulbs. Were marked down 50%. At register they rang up at 75% discount. Had I known, I'd have grabbed a couple more packages. I'm a sucker for bulbs. But have been guilty of buying them and then not getting them planted before the ground freezes.
We also got a couple pieces of strapping, and 6 free pallets for an other log rack. That will use 4 pallets. 2 extras for the winter run to amuse the flock.
Almost all the rest of our shopping will be on line. Only buying for 4 grand kids, and 2 adult gifts. And we're on vacation all of next week. So should have the shopping done, the rest of the wood stacked, and the final tidbits of outdoor stuff to finish up.
