My leukemia's back.

That is pretty weird Phil, the weather radar doesn't show anything within a hundred miles of you.
LAKE EFFECT....... I'm right in Lake Superiors snow zone. Doesn't have to be stormy to get snow here.
Pretty sure it stopped now.... We never got any serious accumulation today. I think there's 4 inches. We're down to nine degrees now..... Must be clear outside ........ Seriously Lake Effect snow is weird...... We can get a good here and Little lake which is a mile away gets none....:hmm

We just got a bit of light snow but I was salting and shoveling the driveway anyhow. When I came in I thought I'm not enjoying shoveling anymore. The asphalt driveway has so many cracks filled with grass and weeds - that I tried all summer to eliminate, :he the shovel can't move through it.

I also discovered 800 down filling ??? is not warm like its cracked up to be. It 28F outside and no breeze to speak off. My parka had the fake fur hood and I was cold even with layers underneath. Used to just have an old fleece lined parka, no fur, no down, that I gave to the coat drive - I was never cold in that.

How come Geese can sit on mostly frozen ice water and not be cold but, I am exerting myself and not comfortable at all.

I'm only a year old than this time last year-when I was having a ball shoveling. :ya

Nope totally different systems Phil. All that snow to the south had a really well defined front line, REALLY LONG, that @Latestarter posted somewhere a couple of days ago.

:lau It is all relative, sort of like 50° is COLD or comfortable depending on what you are used to. 4" here isn't a big yank either but down south? Oh yeah, 4" is a LOT. With 4" I look at the near future weather and decide if I want to bother blowing the parking area.

I here you...... Heck a for of snow isn't a big deal here.
I live in a high snow area.... But not as bad as just east of here.
They get snow almost every day.
I fish in Munising Bay. It's crazy can be sunny and all of a sudden it just clouds up snows like H E double L ......20 minutes later suns out again for a while.....

I betcha it is because quality of products is so terribly poor nowadays.

After 50 years, I needed to replace my down pillow...I bought a new one that SAID it was high quality, 100% down, blah, blah.... :rant:tongue

It is NOT good. achem

I ordered a real goose down filled coat, like this one, from LL Bean about 9 years ago. It still looks brand new, and kept me very warm, even when it dropped down in the 20's in Kentucky, and Indiana. The wind, and light rain were not a problem with it at those temps either. Not sure if this is the same one, but it looks very similar. The complaints abut it running a bit large, and the hood being too big are actually a good thing. You can wear a bulky sweater, or layer clothes underneath it, without it being too tight. When we went to the stadium at night to watch the car races, I wore a long scarf wrapped around my head to cover my ears, then wrapped it around my neck. The hood accommodates the bulk of the scarf, without it being too tight. It would work well with a hoodie too.

That looks like a nice jacket! I really need a good one although layers work best here with the temperature swings. We almost always have a 30 degree temp swing from night to day due to our altitude here in the high desert.

Love the new NorthFace + Pendleton collaboration, but those jackets are probably not in the budget this year.

Hope everyone has a good day!
