My leukemia's back.

Ken and went fishing up in the Big Horns the first time we ever came up here. We were camping with his aunt and uncle, and wandered off on our own to a little stream we'd liked. Hours and hours of fishing, and all we caught were little ones, which we put back to grow up.

Got back to camp and Aunt Norma asked if we'd had any luck. We told her we just got little ones but still had a great time. She opened their cooler and it was full of all these fish....same size as the ones we'd released. Ken told her those were the same fish and she just laughed her hiney off. "Those are Brookies, and they don't get big up here." Oops. But they were delicious!!

We used to catch big, big fish out of Lake Michigan, but I never saw one that nice, Phil!

Impressive!
Not really.... That's a normal great lakes trout.
And my friend Patrick is a pro..... Good kid.
Bad kid done good story.
He was in a lot of trouble as a young adult and turned it around when he discovered fishing..... Now he had his own fishing rod company.
And owns two charter boats.... And gets to fish with some of the best in the country.
And I remember him when he was barely outta diapers.
I recently got a new custom Ice rod from him..... Love it. It's deadly for small fish like smelt. But it was $100 fishing rod.

Yeah..... Brook trout are special.
Near and dear to my heart.
I usually throw them back too.
The DNR has ruined Brook trout fishing by planting those dam Brown trout.
They aren't as good to eat and are too aggressive the brookies have a hard time competing.
But bookies don't grow very big...... And live in some of the smallest Creeks.
I have some secret spots where it's possible to catch a limit of nice 12 " fish.
I only fish there once ever several years..... Only kept a few for a special occasions.
Also brookies are the prettiest of all trout. (Actually they are a Char but that's another story)

As always, wouldn't miss it for the world- SO BEAUTIFUL!
Want a glimpse? (have a few more ;) )

Way below normal.
I hopefully an done plowing for the year.

Hey NFC, i had a great day yesterday but i think i overdid it. Or possibly this sinus infection is getting worse. I sure am tired! 20 quail hatched! I am thrilled! I need to go out and get more feed because they ate a heaping dish full already. Its a small dish, but they think it makes a great bed!
So tomorrow afternoon i get my results. It will be here soon!
:hugs
