My leukemia's back.

Well, they have changed the diagnosis from 'Lupus flareup' to 'shingles' that is affecting her internally ? This is what blood work seems to indicate. I learned long ago that medicine is far from an exact science. Just fix the kid !

Gosh I hate shingles I used to get them regularly after my transplant.
But it's been a long time since a flare up....

I have heard of that, internal shingles. It can be nasty, but should then go away. So a much better choice than lupus flare up... I think.

I had internal chicken pox too!!!!

I was given gabapentin for shingles.
Painful as the shingles were, that is a better thing to have than Lupus.

They always gave me an antiviral.... It worked wonders too.

I don't know. I do know that when she had chicken pox, it was a severe case.

I had the chicken pox three times..... True fact.
They thought it was some kind of trigger for my leukemia..... But after my transplant I dealt with shingles for several years. Then they just stopped.

Will she get the new Shingles vaccine?

I wish I could.
I really want the chicken pox vaccine but they won't let me have any live vaccines.
When I had chicken pox three last time.... At 26 I thought they were gonna kill me.
The doctor said I was the second most worst patient she had ever seen.... And the worst case the guy died.
Geeze....Louise.... Why do doctor's always gotta say that kind of stuff to me...?

Steroids do do a number on you... my third has to take them on occasion so that he can breathe. Luckily the effects don't seem to last long at all.

I've been taking Prednisone for years...I quit for three months this spring and got so bad I could barely walk... Pain was unbelievable.
But I don't take steroids pain I take them for breathing......I guess now I take em for pain too..... Sucks.
That was the one thing Rachel and I would talk a lot about. Neither of us liked Prednisone but agreed it was a miracle drug
