Here hangers are red for conditions that will get better... broken leg, surgery etc. They must be redone every year. The blue ones are permanent and the conditions must be Verified or signed off by a doctor. You get caught driving with someone elses hanger The fine is very stiff.
You must be in the car and have your paperwork issued by the DMV... Just like registration.... In the case of having a driver. same deal.
All are numbered and dated so the police can verify.
Here we have volunteers who are ex police that drive white cars... they handle traffic, spot abandoned cars, do parking tickets, do wellness checks, etc... BUT they also do Placard checks and issue warnings about hanging your placard if in a handicap parking spot.
Oh and San Diego is swarming with police.... IN the city its San Diego Police, In the county its Sheriff... Santee Sheriff, El Cajon Police, Oh then there is the Higway patrol, Marshal, Swatt, Border patrol etc.
Our Motorcycle cops can be: Off Road, Higway patrol, Sheriff or Border Patrol. I have seen assault guns loaded in a scabbard on all but the Off Road or Boader Patrol.
Sheriff and Regular police and Border patrol all have Mounted horse divisions as well.
Then count in all the private police forces for Gated communities Colleges and special events. Some are armed but most are only taser equipped...
