We lost my MIL to dementia; it's a hard thing to go through.

Do his doctors think any of the newer medications might help him some? It's hard to go through. Hang tough.

I don't think there are many ailments as hard on loved ones as dementia or Alzheimer's. ALS I suppose is another. Sorry for your situation, I hope the good days come again soon

It sure is hard...

Be kind to yourself as well as your DH.

It is a horrid disease... I felt like I was watching my dad die... while he still lived.

It broke my heart one day at a time...

They do call it the long goodbye. Sorry you had to go through it too. Hope you had family to help. My son came home from work to be with me. Soo glad that he and his wife, and their little baby moved in. What a big help, in so many different ways. I got upset with myself for losing it today. I've been through some pretty rough times, thought I was pretty tough through them. I was tough through them! But this, to watch my lover disappear slowly. Hardest thing I've ever had to face. I do know, I can do this. I will treasure every bit of time I have with him. I'm thinking it's ok to cry once on a while. Better be.

Crying is probably a very good thing.

Make sure you have some time just for yourself so that you can recharge.
