Hello
I am on my 4th set of eggs in my LG still air. I ran it at 101 like everyone says. My temp fluctuated between 100-103 I always had very low hatch rates, they make it for about 2 weeks then quit.

This time I lowered the temp to 99 and it has only went between 98 and 99. I am on day 15 and so far all but maybe 1 is still going. Although they look farther along than they should lol. Also oddly, on day 7 I candled and had 4 infertile, candled today, day 15 and only found 3 infertile lol.

I hope I have finally solved my incubating problem, I was about to give up.

Thanks for that information. I have mine set at 101 and hopefully eggs coming tomorrow. I will lower it and see what happens. I think it would just make them come a day or so late. Better too low than too high.

To me I don't see why everyone says to put it at 101. Hopefully we both have success. Maybe I'll get my first 100% hatch

and its all showgirls lol.

I had three very successful hatches in my LG as well. I kept the temp at 99.5 the whole time. It is the humidity that effects the hatch I decided to go with the dry method. I kept my humidity below 50% On day 18 I upped it to 60%. I had a70% hatch, a 75% hatch and this last one 85% hatch. These were from my own chickens. The one thing I did was to leave the temp alone. If it went down a hair I covered it with a towel. Overnight I covered it as I run AC Someone also told me the lower the heat rate the more hens. Well I know its a wifes tail but I did get way more hens than roosters in the 1 and third hatch.lol

Additional Info

If you use a turner watch the temp after you take it out. Mine dropped to 96, so i tweeked a spec and got it back to 99. Another option is to just take out the racks and leave the motor on.
