Im glad I processed my birds before watching this. If I hadn't I would be calling everyone to tell them I changed my mind and they would have to buy a frozen bird. Great show PBS.
Loved the video. That is how my turkeys were. I would walk them through our wooded acre and show them where berries and such were, they roost in the trees and they are very vocal. I didn't spend as much time as he did, mine were day old poults and they lived in area in the garage until old enough to be outside. Once they got to big for the little coop, they started roosting in the trees. They get sad, over loss, saw it when we took Tom to processor, poor little Jake was sad. The girl now has figured out the coop is warmer then the tree and left Jake sleeping by himself. I try to show him a better place, but he's too dumb. Turkeys are easy to imprint.
