I am really new at all of this... I have gotten two Silkies baby chicks in April and they told me that both were girls since we wanted them for Eggs. And just last week, my gold one "crowed". I ran downstairs to check on my babies as I was hoping I heard something else. But then he did it again and my heart just dropped. All the dogs were confused and my GSD was barking at the ducks in the lakes thinking the noise was coming from them. Even when the vet checked him (then her lol) almost a month and a half ago, he told me that she has perfect bone structure for laying eggs lol so I was confused at first. But now within a week, he has a red glossy crown that is getting bigger and he is getting aggressive it seems like. He was always faster then my other one in eating and all but I didn't know it was a rooster. I don't know how loud he is going to get as he is a silky but I am afraid my neighbors will start complaining. I love them both but he just follows me all around and talks to me constantly so I am really close to him. So now when I go inside after feeding them in the morning, he stays at the door crowing until I come outside. Of course I have to go to work so he probably does it for like 10 minutes or so and stops. I am so scared because I would hate to give him away. My lil "Chick Pea" is a boy :( I read the thread about getting him fixed but just the thought of the procedure makes my heart go crazy. I don't think I will be able to do that to him.
He is such a pretty and loving boy!!!
Any ideas guys? I can't have lil chicks either so this is eventually going to be a problem.

Oh boy! (No pun intended!!!).
That puts you in a tough spot. Rehoming him sounds like the only option at this point, which leaves you with a lone Silkie.....you will need to get your sweet girl a friend as chickens thrive as a flock. I’m so sorry that you are out in this position. :hugs Silkies are very difficult to sex, so you you weren’t lied to, just misled. Good luck!!!!!
