Hi guys, we hatched 6 ducklings and the last one hatched had a twisted leg... it was straight out behind her and she wasn't able to bring it forward. I tried the duck bouncer idea I saw on here, but she kept wriggling her way out of it, so decided to leave her been and just support her by hand a couple of times a day for about 20mins each time to build up strength in the leg and to turn it the right way. Then when they were 3 or 4 days old we put them in water to do some water therapy with her...she LOVED it and you could see a real improvement almost immediately in strength in the leg and determination on her part to stand and walk. She is now limping around with everyone else happily. But, although she is only a day and a half younger then the first hatched, she is half the size of all her siblings. She is eating and drinking but not growing well. Anybody got any ideas to bring her along? We've named her Nemo because of her gimpy fin/leg. I tried to attach a little video of them all on their first day out in the garden so you could see how much smaller she is to the others, but it won't accept the file. Any advice on how to build her up appreciated.

To get a video here you need to put it on youtube or Vimeo then copy and paste it here.
Seeing a video will help us know how best to help you.
Have you given your duckling any niacin? very important they have niacin for leg strength. Even if they are on duck food it's still a good idea to supplement you can use Nutritional yeast 1 Tablespoon over each cup of feed you give them, and when one is having issues liquid B complex is the best way to treat, But if you can get a video and also pictures of the leg that will really help.
