Hello my name is Bella, a young bird enthusiest living in Ohio, USA. I actually dont have chickens, but a few years ago i made an incubator and hatched some eggs from a nearby farm, which i really enjoyed as a summer project. Incubating with a homemade incubator (not even a great one at that) is super challenging, and often frusterating, but ultimately very rewarding, probably even more so than hatching from a storebought incubator. Like i said, i dont own chickens myself, i live in a subdivision with an HOA :(, so once my chicks hatch i give them to some friend who is wanting to add to their flock.

Overall, hatching chickens is such a wonderful experience. its always fun to come on here and see what others have eperienced and how we can learn from that, especially in the egg incubation aspect of things. Im currently incubating a batch of silkie eggs so ive been on here more than usual so i thought i would make an acount just because. :):)

Welcome to BackYard Chickens! So glad that you finally decided to join! :woot

Sorry that you don't have any chickens yourself, but hatching chicks must still be a pleasure, right? Did you know, that on Lockdown, you can chirp to the eggs and the chicks inside will chirp back? (Sometimes it takes a couple of times to get them to reply. ;) )
